
Romana Kulikova, MD

Dr. Kulikova is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the Child Neurology Society, and is board certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology. She received her doctoral degree at the prestigious Charles University in Prague in 1992. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Kulikova trained in the field of internal medicine before moving into the field of neurology. She completed her residency in the Pediatric Neurology program at Columbia University in New York in 2003. She received additional specialized training in neuromuscular disorders through a post-doctoral fellowship, also at Columbia University, from 2003-2005. In addition to practicing general neurology, Dr. Kulikova has cared for patients with muscular dystrophies and other conditions affecting the muscle or nerve as well as patients with spasticity due to cerebral palsy and other causes. She also has cared for patients with various neurogenetic conditions and neurofibromatosis within multidisciplinary specialty clinics. Prior to and during her training, Dr. Kulikova participated in basic science research in the field of mitochondrial diseases, and research on Glut1 deficiency syndrome and spinal muscular atrophy. Dr. Kulikova became involved in clinical research in 2021 prior to joining the ERG team in July 2024 to focus on research in neuropsychiatry and other fields of medicine full time.
